Venue in Grenoble

Location

The meeting will be hosted at the La Maison de la création et de l'innovation (MaCI) on the campus of Grenoble Alpes University (339 Av. Centrale, 38400 Saint-Martin-d'Hères; see the map here).

It can easily be reached by tram (B and C) from Grenoble city center (tram stop "Gabriel Fauré" on both lines). If you wish to bike, it is ~20-25 min from the train station on the crono  cycle lines that reach the campus. Bikes can be rented for 3 days to a week from the Metro Velo kiosk at the train station. For those familiar with IGE it is within a walkable distance (5-10 min) of the glaciology building.

Getting there

• Arriving by air: the two closest international airports are in Lyon and Geneva. To get from either airport to Saint-Martin d’Hères you have several public transportation options or take a car which takes approximately 1.5 hours to drive.

• Public transportation from the airport: Trains and buses from both airports will take you to Grenoble main station in the center of Grenoble which is close to Saint-Martin d’Hères. Trains leave from Lyon and Geneva airport regularly, the travel time from Lyon is around 1:10 hours and from Geneva around 2:30 hours. There is also a shuttle bus service connecting from both airports (Lyon - Grenoble and Geneva - Grenoble).

• Public transportation within Grenoble: Grenoble feature a great public transportation services which takes you around by either bus or tramway. The easiest way to get from Grenoble main station to INRAE in Saint-Martin d’Hères is using tram B in the direction of “Gières - Plaine des Sports” and exiting at “Bibliothèques Universitaires”, which is a 5-10 minutes walk away from the INRAE building.
